I have a question. What exactly is blasphming? I had always believed it to be to completely turn your back on God and never come back. But I read something that said it as to have a hostile attitude towards God. Its like this. Am I going to go to hell because at times I have had a bad atttitude towards church ect (Im sure we all have) and complained about it? Im scard half to death now.

It can mean a whole bunch of stuff. Talking bad about God, Mocking God, making fun of God, etc. However, Jesus says that even Blaspheming him can be forgiving. Its Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit that is not forgivable.
Find a church that you can deal with. Remember Christ loved the Church, we should try to love it as well.
Yes, my friend I have complained about the Church too, and many other things, its natural and we are human. Jesus still loves you!!!!

      This may help you:

Can a Believer Commit the Unforgivable Sin?
No. A believer cannot commit the unforgivable sin. How can someone who has been born again (John 3:7), made a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17), and received eternal life (John 10:27-28) actually commit the unforgivable sin? He cannot. Jesus Himself said that we have eternal life, not conditional life: "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand." Besides, it says in 2 Cor. 5:17 that the Christian is a new creation in Christ. We are different, no longer slaves to the old nature (Rom. 6:14). We are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
There is no biblical support for a believer committing this sin. It just hasnít happened. Also, if you are worried that you may have committed the sin and canít be forgiven, then donít be concerned. If you are worrying about it, then you havenít committed it. If you are worried about it, then that is a sign that you have not committed it. If you had, you wouldnít be concerned.

If you need more, go to www.carm.org and it further explains about blasphemy. It says that blasphemy was said to be when the Pharisees accused Jesus of using the power of the devil to cast out demons...It also, says that Jesus came to fulfill righteousness...check it out...
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in HIM should not perish, but have eternal life.

Of those who have heard the Gospel (which you have I take it) the only ones who are going to hell are those who reject Him (which you haven't I take it).
The reason is is because they have rejected God's only means by which a person can be saved...they have rejected the Sacrifice which forgives their sin.

When looking for a definition, I use the Noah Webster 1828 dictionary because the "modern" meanings of words is clearly not in that dictionary. We want the definition that best fits the word when it was used when the scriptures were translated. Here is what it says....

            Blaspheme
BLASPHE'ME, v.t. [Gr. The first syllable is the same as in blame, blasme, denoting injury; L. loedo, loesus; The last syllable is the Gr.,to speak.]
            1. To speak of the Supreme Being in terms of impious irreverence; to revile or speak reproachfully of God, or the Holy Spirit. 1 Ki 21. Mark 3.
            2. To speak evil of; to utter abuse or calumny against; to speak reproachfully of.
            BLASPHE'ME, v.i. To utter blasphemy.
He that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven. Mark 3.
            1. To arrogate the prerogatives of God.

              Hi Vettech,

What were the Pharisees saying when Jesus spoke against blasphemy of the Holy Spirit? They were attributing the work of the Holy Spirit to the devil, and accusing Christ of coming in the power of Satan.

              Many Blessings,

Good answer.. this is what the Blasphemy of the Holy Ghost is.. attributing the work and ministry of the Holy Ghost to satan or the devil.. and calling the power of God which Christ walked in.. the power of satan..

Many during His day attributed Him casting out devils by the prince of the devils .. He cast them out by the power of satan.. but Jesus turned around and told them.. a kingdom divided will not stand... how can Satan cast out Satan? no man can enter a strong mans house lest He first bing the storng man .. then He will spoil his house..

He turned to them again .. and said ...... but if I cast out devils by the Finger/Hand of God.. then without a doubt.. the Kingdom of Heaven is upon you.. and has appeared to you... but they in their rebellion and hard hearts were blinded to the truth... Jesus later called these same accusers.. serpents and vipers... doing the deeds of their father the devil... most of them without the possiblity of escaping damnation...
Many appear Righteous and Just because they say 'yes' to Jesus Christ , yet they don't do His Will.

You are in luck. Your salvation does not depend on a church. Like other people have sayd, it is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit that God does not forgive. With that being said, when you have the spirit of God in you, you dont just stop sinning. It is a revining prosess. To hear the spirits voice. And He(The Spirit) will lead you into all truth.

It all depends on what Jesus would say. Where there is no law, there is no transgression, but judge not and you will not be judged & enter through the narrow gate.
