  • What does the Bible say about?

I am currently seeing a woman who has never been married but has children. Would it be considered adultery for us to get married? I know that they Bible is very specific about divorce and remarraige, but I was wondering if it says anything about this situation.

It depends on the circumstances of her divorce.
As thy days, so shall thy strength be - Deuteronomy 33:25

I take it you have never been married as well.
If she has never been married, she is capable of being married. Her sin
would have been fornication, sex outside of marriage, but she is no way
guilty of adultery if she marries you, since she was never married.

It is noble for you to marry her and take on her kids as your own.

Here's my opinion to a difficult question. She became one with a man or men. That's all that's necessary for marriage. This legal marriage nonsense in America is not Biblical at all. It's God's law that matters, not mans.

I know this, many will use the bible to make you feel bad and stumble. Others will use, mainly the 'love' bible passages to say go ahead do as you please.

The answer lies somewhere inbetween. The words of Jesus are to set us free. To open our eyes and ears to God's stated eternal Wisdom.

If things get 'hot' on this topic, i advise you to open a new topic in the private moderator section, where those in authority have proved their love and bible knowledge many times daily.

May i send you my love and blessings and please also pass them to this lady and her children. SofTy.
1 Corinthians 1:12-13 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos: and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptised in the name of Paul?

            KJV

May the power of the Spirit of our God unite us. SofTy.

The idea that the first person you have intercourse with is now your spouse
is false. Sex before marriage, between two unmarried people, is not called
a marriage, its called fornication. If your first intercourse made you married
then fornication wouldn't exist and adultery would be what is left.

A person must do what is legally demanded by the government of the land,
whatever that government may be. It is a societal arrangement and if not
done according to society then one is not married.

Ro.13:1-7; Obey the government, including pay taxes!

If anyone would like to get into discussion on these thoughts then please
start another thread and we can happily exchange, so as not to derail the
              thoughts on this thread.

Get married and grow in Christ together. She can repent and you two can go on to put God in the center of your marriage and raise loving christ-centered children.
