I think that in the area of our gift we can have equal problems. For example, if your gift is being discerning, your weakness may be being too paranoid. If your gift is judging right and wrong, your weakness may be becoming judgmental. If your gift is teaching, your weakness may be in thinking everybody should be able to understand things. Or if your gift is being prophetic, you may think all should immediately know what God's will is.
My wife is very good at buying and selling, and saves us thousands of dollars over a relatively short period of time. But she becomes a bit of a sales buyer and hoarder, ultimately wasting a lot. She's also super-sensitive to people's insults and insinuations. But that also means she's careful to not be taken by manipulators and cheats.
I may not be saying this very well. But yes, your gift is also your weakness, and your weakness your gift. Thank God for what you have, but be careful how it may lead you astray.
