    Acts 8:4-8

Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. 5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. 6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. 8 And there was great joy in that city.
    NKJV

The next lesson is posted here: http://bibleforums.org/showthread.php?t=145042

The plan for this week is to have 3 lessons, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I hope that can work for everyone. I have had a request to speed up the lesson so we have a daily lesson like we had before, and another request to keep it at once per week. So by way of compromise, I hope the 3 times a week lessons will be workable. If that frequency is too much, please do what you can at your own pace.

Thanks to everyone who is participating!
    Love In Christ,
    Tanya

      4.
What unexpected benefit resulted from the persecution?
The believers were spread out and began to preach the Gospel.
What might we learn from this about how God works?
That God uses our persecution to his benefit. That while things may seem bad on the ground in the grand scheme of things they have much more effect then we know.
      5.
What did we previously learn about Philip? See Acts 6:1-7
They were sent to preach and spread the Gospel and ordained by the disciples
Where did he go and what did he do there?
Samaria and he preached to the people there.
In what way did this fulfill Jesus’ word? Compare Acts 1:8.
He said that they were to spread throughout the world and spread the word.
      *Based on what the apostles had been doing up to this point, what do you think it means to “preach Christ?” For help, see Acts 2:22-25, 32; 3:15, 18;
They were suffering, serving, and venturing out to spread the Gospel. So I think it means to live by example, sacrifice your desires, and turn others to Christ.
      6-7.
Describe the response of the people in Samaria, and the kinds of miracles Philip did.
He cast out demons and healed the sick, people were amazed by the miracles and followed what he said.

      8.
How did the gospel impact this city?
      It brought joy and followers.
