  • Urgent- word from God

I've been following this guys YouTube account for about 2 months now and lately this shook my spirit in excitement and sadness for the lost, I generally believe that lately God is telling everybody (not just the guy who made the video) to warn his people, I trust that this was indeed from the Lord and that the end is here, please watch these videos and tell everybody you know and love that Jesus is going to call us home soon, oh and preach th gospel in anyway you can, thanks xx

just a question, can anybody tell me some good ways of preaching the gospel to the lost? I work as a home carer and recently started wearing my cross necklace with my uniform to encourage curiosity whilst I'm caring for my clients, I've posted the gospel on a few secular sites but not had much of a positive response or hardly any response and tommorow I'm going to see if I can pick up some fliers promoting Christianity and post them through letter boxes on my day off.

There's one rule of thumb that has served me well and that is: People don't care about what you know until they know that you care.

How you approach people may depend on who you're approaching. Where I live in the US people are so evangelized that when you start talking about Jesus or the Bible they immediately tune you out. People here say "have a blessed day" all the time, or "God is good"; to which you're expected to reply "all the time." It doesn't mean anything, it's just something people say.

People want to see you're different, that you walk the walk not just talk the talk. Love is what's need most these days because there's such a lack of genuine love. People are hungry for something real.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and always perseveres.

Truthteller, I love your enthusiasm but I've been researching Greg Laurie and I'd be cautious. I'm not an expert on him of course, but I do know people have been preaching Christ's immanent return almost from day 1. If you can get someone excited emotionally you can easily exploit them. I'm not telling you what to do but only find out all you can about this guy before giving him your allegiance. Some of the stuff I've read on him is a little concerning.

The feeling I get when I see these videos is this..."pray asking the Lord for his guidance in knowing His truth in His word."

I'm not saying the makers of these video's are right or wrong, but I will say that in something like this as well as your approach in carrying out the Lord's Great Commission.

The one that was pointing out those who "are not christians" one in particular was Rod Parsley. I remember watching that particular airing and Isa 54:17 was indeed already written. My question would be, "the idea that Isa 54:17 had not yet been written when Rod Parsley said that. Where did that Idea come from"?

I would be very cautious as Jesus Christ directed us to be when he said for us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves in Mat 10:16 (KJV)

"Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."
He hath given us the city
He hath given us this land
He hath given us the city
He hath given us every man
        Not by might
        Nor by power
But by the Spirit of the Lord
        We will fight
        We will conquer
        We will stand

Greg Laurie, and Don Stewart, have been connected to Chuck Smith and the Calvary Chapels, who have largely promoted an imminent, pretrib rapture of the Church. Chuck Smith himself believed Christ would come sometime in the 1980s, which of course didn't happen. I asked him, by letter, if he would be bothered if I attended his church, when I disagreed with his pretrib theology? He said, "should two walk together if they be disagreed?"

I believe Pretrib Theology to be corrupt, and leads to a heightened tension about an imminent expectation of Christ's return.

We shouldn't stress. Rather, we should feel confident that when we walk with the Lord daily, we *are* in fact ready for his Return.

Jesus comes as a thief for those who are *not* walking with the Lord, because their illicitly-gained material wealth will be taken from them. All that we have should be devoted to the Lord, by treating all our things as something to be used in a godly way. We should feel confident that we are here to serve God's purpose, and have no need to feel threatened by sudden events, even if they do happen at times.
