  • 6.3 Magnitude earthquake hits New Zealand

Apparently it hit sometime yesterday (I think they're a day behind us, if I remember right). So far 65 confirmed dead and hundreds more trapped in the wreckage.

    From CNN: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/wor...th.tvnz?hpt=C2

I know I saw this first thing this morning. We need to keep them in our prayers for sure.
"People do not drift toward holiness. Apart from grace-driven effort, people do not gravitate toward godliness, prayer, obedience to Scripture, faith, and delight in the Lord. We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance; We drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; We drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated?" - D A Carson

65 have been confirmed dead and many more are missing - including my aunt and her family. Many are still trapped in buildings also. My country is in shock over this. All prayers for those in the earthquake and those with missing family and friends is very much appreciated. http://www.stuff.co.nz/

This is the biggest ever disaster to hit us. 100 confirmed dead and 200 still missing - probably buried under the rubble. At present everyone's focus is on search and rescue but the coming weeks will see a stream of tragic personal stories. There will also be an economic impact.

I was in Wellington during the quake but it was not felt in the north. My family is safe but most Kiwis have friends or know of someone in Christchurch. Please keep praying for NZ.
