If you are going to accuse me of idolatry, please do not beat around the bush. Stand your ground. Am I committing idolatry by exercising the bill of rights? As Jesus would say, let your answer be a "yes" or a "no."

    Answer the question please.

Not only are private citizens not "a well regulated militia", their guns simply do not fit the context for which the Second Amendment was written: single-shot muskets that took several minutes to reload.

Insisting that we need tighter regulations is not "anti-Second Amendment". Exactly the opposite. People who insist on gun control are the ones who intend to follow the spirit of that law: to permit and regulate firearms.

Though, going beyond that, I think American Christians need to stop loving their guns so much. You have a legal right to bear arms. That doesn't make it Christlike to cling to that "right". The Christian sensibility should not be, "They're killing us, so let's kill them back." It should be, "They're killing us, what can we do to remain non-violent and be peacemakers like Jesus intended for us?"
The vid does prove something I've always pointed out... those who do not follow ANY guns laws.... can't shoot properly because they have no clue about the gun they are using unlawfully.

Even automatic weapons are safe in the hands of those who know HOW to use them, and for WHAT to use them for.

How did you twist that one? The Bill of rights recognizes pre-existing, God given rights.

The 2nd amendment (and the entire Bill of Rights) were written to LIMIT GOVERNMENT, not citizens. Liberals have it backwards, they are constantly trying to empower government and make subjects out of citizens.

Hooah! Another point I always raise, those for gun control don't realize they are creating a totalitarian government and once they have their way, they won't be able to stop the government from overthrowing all freedom.

My neighboring state allows class III weapons. Not one person has been killed by one in that state since GCA 1968. Not one.

I've also noticed who liberals cling to their "free speech" rights.

A right not exercised is a surrendered one.

Why are they so afraid of gun owners, after all, they keep preaching that we should "fear" no one but God. Can't have it both ways......,

Keck, I have not accused you of anything, and you are not Jesus, and I will not be bullied into a yay, or nay, on a very conflicted issue. I do feel like somes attachment ( YOU determine if that includes you) has become more than what it should be.

Then I suggest you stop exercising the entire Bill of Rights immediately.
annnnnnnnnnd I will not stop exercising anything, but I do not worship any Bill of Rights, my faith is not in that
It takes love to embrace those ones who are weak, and strength to endure the weakness, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

Then you might consider how embarrassing this self-righteous beating around the bush with the "idolatry" tripe really is.

Here you go again with your self-righteous garbage. NO ONE worships the Bill of Rights, they EXERCISE it. Have you no discernment at all? What is it with all this religious legalist mumbo-jumbo and self-righteous judgments you heap on people who choose to exercise (not worship, but EXERCISE - and that means DEFENDS) ALL of the Bill of Rights?

Another definition for exercise is to occupy the thoughts of; worry or perplex the occupation of my mind will always be the Word of God, not the Bill of rights, for in it The Word of God, worry (a form of fear) and (confusion)- perplexion, do not exist.

I didn't say the government should take away private citizens' firearms, or that they "aren't supposed" to have them.

I said the purpose of the Second Amendment was "to permit and regulate firearms." The spirit of the law is that people may have firearms under regulation. Firearms have evolved in incredible ways since the Second Amendment was written, so the "regulation" advised by that law must evolve as well. Insisting on tighter gun control is not anti-Second Amendment.
Hated? No. It's a case of you not knowing what you are talking about. Instead of being satisfied with your opinion, try do some research on the matter. Research what the founders had to say about this. Stop being ignorant and satisfied with that.

There is another thread I just replied to where two posts supply much historical fact that you should read. It will correct and enlighten you if you prefer the truth over your own opinion. If you do not, then ramble on.
