  • The Lord will cleanse the Holy Land.

Deuteronomy 32:36-42 The Lord will judge His people and have compassion on His servants, for He will see that their strength has gone, all are affected. He will say: where are your false gods, those false idols in which you trusted? Let them be your protection! See now that I, the Lord, am HE – beside Me there is no other God. I hold the power of life and death. I swear: as I live forever that I will sharpen My flashing sword and set My hand to judgement to punish My enemies, then My vengeance will fall upon My foes. I shall make My arrows drunk with blood, My sword will devour flesh, the blood of the slain and the captives along with the enemy leaders. Zephaniah 1:1-18

Deuteronomy 32:43 Rejoice with His people, you nations, for the Lord will avenge the blood of His servants. He will take vengeance on His enemies and punish all those who hate Him and will cleanse His peoples Land. Jeremiah 12:14

Deuteronomy 33:1-5 This is the blessing that Moses pronounced on the Israelites before his death. The Lord came from Sinai, He appeared and shone out from the South. With Him were multitudes of His holy people, streaming along at His right hand. Truly, He loves His people and blesses His holy ones. They receive instruction, the Law that Moses gave us, as our possession for all Israel. Then, when all the tribal leaders assembled, a leader arose in the Land.

The Lord will judge his people and have compassion on His servants. His servants; now every faithful Christian, they are gathered from every race, nation and language. Psalms 107, Romans 9:24-26, Revelation 7:9

their strength has gone – Isaiah 17:4-6 & 9 On that Day Israel [now the western nations] will lose their strength and prosperity. On that day, strong cities will be abandoned, like those of your enemies of old that were deserted at the Israelites approach. Cities will be uninhabitable – no food, power or water.

those false idols in which you trusted – people today put their faith in materialism, atheism or a ‘rapture’ out of trouble, etc. Micah 5:10-15

My vengeance will fall upon My foes – The great and terrible Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath, prophesied over 100 times in the Bible. It is the next action of the Lord on earth, which results in the ‘cleansing of the Land’. By the means of His ‘flashing sword ‘, an explosion of the suns surface. Isaiah 30:26a

the enemy leaders – As the enemy leaders prepare their weapons, Isaiah 21:2 – Elam & Media = Iran, ‘they are swept away by a whirlwind ‘. Habakkuk 3:14, Psalms 83:13-17

The Lord appears to His people – The Lord’s Right Hand, that is Jesus, Psalms 110, will guide ‘the multitude of His people’, into the promised Land in the same way as He did for the ancient Israelites. 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10, 1 Corinthians 10:4, Jeremiah 31:8-9, Isaiah 49:8-11

they receive instruction – True prophets and priests will teach them the right Laws and the correct ordinances. Isaiah 66:21, Malachi 2:7

Then a leader arose – Proof that all this happens before the Return of Jesus for His Millennium reign. Jeremiah 30:21, Hosea 1:11

If the promises were supposedly forever, how can they point to anywhere on earth that will end in fire? Why did Abraham look for heaven when God promised Canaan? Is it possible that Canaan is too small to contain the promises?

The earth will never end. It will be cleansed by fire.

Abraham looked to God [heavenward] for Him to fulfil His promise; that his descendants would occupy all of that area from the Nile to the Euphrates. We Christians are his descendants; Galatians 3:26-29, and it is our privilege and destiny to go to live there soon after the Lord has cleared and cleansed it.

The holy Land is about 100 times bigger than Canaan. Many prophesies tell us how it will become as a garden land.

Peter says it will pass away in a fervent heat and loud noise. Pass away = end.

2 Peter 3:7-11 is a sequence of events, culminating in a renewed heaven and earth. Proved by Revelation 21:1-7, where the new Jerusalem comes to the earth.

What is described to 'pass away' is mans works off the earth. The heat and noise, will be the Sixth Seal worldwide disaster; the reset of our civilization by a blast from the sun. Isaiah 30:25-30

This expanded translation says the universe including the earth passes away. Learn from Jesus how to interpret the OT and things will make sense. He blinded the Pharisees everyone looks to today so they could not.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief [with surprise and danger]. The -skies [heavens] will -disappear [pass away; Matt. 5:18; 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 16:17; 21:33l with a loud noise. -Everything in them [The elements; ceither everything in the cosmos or specifically the heavenly bodies] will be -destroyed [or dissolved] by -fire [heat; burning], and the earth and -everything in it [or all the deeds done on it] will be exposed." 11 In that way everything will be -destroyed [or dissolved]. So what kind of people should you be? You should live holy lives and -serve God [be godly/pious], 12as you wait for and •look forward to [strive for; or hurry; hasten] the coming of the day of God. When that day comes, the -skies [or heavens] will be -destroyed [or dissolved] with fire, and •everything in them [the elements; 3:10] will melt with •heat [fire; burning]. *3 But God made a promise to us [Is. 65:17; 66:22], and we are waiting for a new heaven and a new earth where -goodness [righteousness] -lives [makes its home].

Yes; After the Millennium, in Eternity; all things will be made new.

You ignored the fact of 2 Peter 3:7-11 being a sequence of events. Verse 7 describes the Sixth Seal event. Revelation 21 and 22 describe the Eternal state.

If you study the nature of the Kingdom in the gospels according to Jesus, there is no physical millennium. You can read Revelation in many ways. The Recapitulation method aligns with Jesus. And shows 7 parallel passages all ending in the destruction of the universe by fire.

God blinded the Pharisees yet many prefer their ideas over scripture.

There will be a 1000 year reign of Jesus on earth. Revelation 20 says so 6 times.
Here is some more scriptures for instruction:

Hear the Word of the Lord:
Hosea 4:1-6 You inhabitants of the Land of Israel, hear the Word of the Lord: There is no good faith or loyalty and no [very little] acknowledgement of God in the Land. People break oaths, they kill and commit adultery. Violence and apostasy rule, there is no justice. But it is not for mankind to bring charges, it is My contention and it is with you, the prophets and priests. Day and night you blunder on in your ignorance of My true Word. You bring your nation to ruin with your want of knowledge. As you reject the teaching of God, so I reject you as My priests.
Therefore the Land will be made desolate and all who live in it will suffer, the animals, birds and even the fish will vanish.

Hosea 4:7-19 The more priests there are, the more they sin against Me. Their dignity I shall turn into dishonour. The leaders of My people [Judah and Israel] have given themselves to immorality and strong drink, their wits are dulled and they seek advice from divinators. A people so devoid of understanding will soon come to grief, a powerful wind will hit them and they will realize their practices and beliefs are a delusion.

Hosea 5:1-12 Hear then, you congregation leaders of My people: Sentence is passed on you because you have misled your flocks. I shall punish all those who spread false doctrines and now all Ephraim, Israel [the Western nations] have become promiscuous and their misdeeds have barred their way back to their God. So now a terrible invader is set to devour their lands.
Sound the alarm! On the Day of wrath and punishment Ephraim will be laid waste, certain desolation is decreed for Israel and Judah.

Hosea 6:1-3 Come let us go back to the Lord, He has punished us but He will heal us. After two days He will revive us and on the third day, He will raise us up to live in His presence. Let us press on to know the Lord, His coming is as sure as the sunrise. He will come to us like a refreshing shower, like the spring rains He will water His people with the Holy Spirit.
Ref: REB, NIV. Some verses abridged and paraphrased.

not for mankind to bring charges’ – Isa. 3:13-15, Zeph. 3:8, Mal. 3:5, Hebrews 10:26-27
                  the Land made desolate’ – Isa.28:22, Eze.20:47, Jer.6:7, Jer.7:34, Zeph.1:18, Micah 1:6
                  ‘a powerful wind will hit them’ – Jer.23:19, Jer.4:26-28, Psalm 3:14-15, Joel 1:15-20
                  the Lord’s Day of vengeance and wrath’, Isa.13:9-13, Eze.30:3-5, Zeph.1:14-1, 2 Pet.3:10
destruction decreed for Israel and Judah’ Jer.23:9-18, Isa.25:2, Isa 28:22, Amos 6:11
‘teachers and leaders of the flock judged’, James 3:1, Jer.23:1-2, Rev. 2:20-22
‘after two days comes revival, on the third day we will live in His presence’. – Luke 13:32, 2 Peter 3:8

The Lord’s timeline: 4000 years before Christ = 4 days. Then 2000 years of church dispensation = 2 days, His people will be revived and back in the holy Land. Isaiah 62:1-5 Then after the Return of Jesus, He reigns for 1000 earthly years = 1 heavenly day, giving a total of 7000 years of earth time and 7 days of heaven time from Creation until Completion.
