  • The End of Morality

We have an ongoing thread “Last Days - Roelof’s News Reports” that looks at specific events that may be leading us to the end-times.

But underneath it all is a collapse of the moral system. A statistical study was done that asked people in the US about moral behaviors. The results are astonishing, but not surprising. I have a link to a commentary at WND, and to the original study.

Those under 25 “have had little exposure to traditional moral teaching and limited accountability for such behavior.”

The rise in progressive liberalism plays a key role. The idea behind “Progressive” philosophy is that there is no absolute truth. We progress from truth to truth using our human reasoning. There is no foundation for truth or morality. Progressivism specifically rejects that morality is in any way God given. Religion is seen as a tool to restrict thinking and control people.

It is not surprising then, that “Self-described liberals were five times more likely than those who described themselves as conservatives to participate in unmarried sex, more than three times as likely to view pornography, more than twice as likely to lie and to get drunk…”

The US is on a rapid spiral, drowning in a swirling cesspool of Godless amorality. It will take the rest of the world with it.

In my own life, I have a “BC” period, and an “AD” period. I looked at these behaviors and asked myself, how would I have responded to this survey, in the BC time, and now in the AD time. The difference is amazing. Glory to God!

“To preserve the government we must also preserve morals. Morality rests on religion; if you destroy the foundation, the superstructure must fall. When the public mind becomes vitiated and corrupt, laws are a nullity and constitutions are waste paper.” – Daniel Webster, 4th of July, 1800, Oration at Hanover, N.H.

Discernment is not needed in things that differ, but in things that appear to be the same. - Miles Sanford

I agree...And I also think that cup of abomination is pretty full right now!

Jesus is litterally at the door as he once said...

I think you will find that the US, is catching up on 'much of' the rest of the world in regards to moral decay.

Moral decay is not the problem, but a symptom of the problem.

I have to agree with PofC here. If you could see what some other countries, like Japan, show on regular tv, you would think what we see here is tame. It is a world problem, not only in America.
