  • Needed You To Know

I was reading the verse about how if one sheep gets lost, Christ will leave the ninety nine to go after the one. And it made me think what life would be like if I was that one sheep. And I've been there before, so I kind of drew on those feelings and wrote this:

I told You I'd believe no matter what I'd see
And I told You I would breathe to take all that's in me
To sacrifice my life in living for my King
But now I'm wandering to places where I bleed
Finding that I'm weak, even on my knees
    What's happening
    What's happening to me

I need to hear You speak

Where did I go so wrong
    Where does this all belong
Deep inside my heart I'm trying to carry on
    But I feel so alone
Oh God where did I go
Cause I can't see You anymore
I just needed You to know

It's so hard to hold onto everlasting hope
When all throughout my soul I feel the spaces grow
I'm trying not to go away from all I know
When everything explodes, I'm still trying to come home
But I don't know where to go
    Where do I go

    Just to feel You close

Where did I go so wrong
    Where does this all belong
Deep inside this heart I'm trying to carry on
    But I feel so alone
Oh God where did I go
Cause I can't see You anymore
I just needed You to know

It feels like I've fallen so far from grace
    And the more I wander
The more I'm out of place
But You promised if there was one, You'd leave ninety nine
    So I'm begging You Jesus
    Don't leave me behind

Cause I have gone so wrong
    Where does this all belong
Deep inside this heart I'm trying to carry on
    I know I'm not alone
    Oh God I'm coming Home
I want to feel You close
And I just needed You to know
I just needed You to know

I'm so glad that this touched you guys. I love hearing that. God is good and He is so much bigger than anything that happens to us. and He will always go back for that one sheep. That is the biggest comfort ever.
