    24 August 2013 - I've decided to take a break from a number of internet forums, including this one, for my own reasons.
    I expect to be back at some time in the future, although at present don't know when that will be.
    I've been here just a few days shy of six years, and those six years have been greatly blessed.

            Aren't sites with .org mostly nonprofits? If so, member donations or subscription fees could be collected. If the site is "for profit" then that would be considered revenue. Unfortunately donations made to "for profits" sites are not tax exempt.

              Usually, but not always. It's not a requirement for domain registration for example.

                Non profits can make revenue or a "profit" but it is more a matter of where that profit goes. A profit can be made to expand operations or pay salaries, but it can not go to benefit the owners or board members more so than would be considered a reasonable salary. In other words the profit can not go to line someones pocket just to increase their wealth. At least here in Cali it may be different in other states.

                  I understand the need for ads...but perhaps a "family filter" on the ads would work. I did that for our business website because kids are on it all the time and I didn't want them see certain pharmaceutical ads if you catch my drift.

                  I just saw a "league of angels" ad on here that was pretty inappropriate for a faith based forum. It was animated but was a fairly racy image. That was the last thing I expected to have on my screen while I was scrolling the pages here. Of well...if there is a fix for that it would be great!
