  • Information I'm impressed!

Was looking for worpress themes and ran across one that looked really good: http://demo.pixelthemestudio.ca/wordpress/layers/

So I purchased it not really knowing what I was in for. But I wanted my site to look good so I figured any extra effort was fine. What I did not realize is that the theme is user friendly. And has it's own custom widgets and you can add the regular ones but only to certain areas.

In the theme options is where the theme makes the sell for me. All the custom options are there. Virtually no CSS code. You can change colors of most anything. And you have gradient color options for the background as well. It will take me a little while to figure out all that I can do with it, but my site is going to look pretty good and that's what counts. And if it's okay to give a good product a plug, here is the link: http://pixelthemestudio.ca/wordpress...2-layers-theme

WoW, thanks for posting this site. Will be looking through all the demos as I'm still deciding what to go with for the AMofG Ministry website.

The only thing I did not like is how the pics work. You cannot upload, you have to already have them on your server and link to them. But I'm sure they will eventually make it easier by adding an upload feature.

Also, the one I linked to has several selection for what kind of pic gallery you want to use.
      1) Layered.
      2) Slide show.
      3) One stationary pic.

Options like this are drop down menus (enable, disable). If you mess up with the settings and your sites goes wacko, they have a reset option (button) that puts every back the way it was when you bought it and you can start over. I already had to use it once.

        Re: I'm impressed!

I've given up trying to keep up with these things. There is sooo much cool stuff out there for Wordpress and all the others, it's mind boggling.

        One word of caution though:

Be sure to only purchase from companies that you think will be around for a while (checkout when there domain was registered, check their page rank, Wordpress site itself and stuff like that). As you know, Wordpress (or *any* script), needs to be updated from time to time. What do don't want is a company that goes bust leaving you with a theme that breaks your Wordpress (or whatever) next time you update the software.
        Time's up
