Ode to the Fallen: The End of GM

First of all, I would like to say that I am still, for the moment, an Obama fan. (For how long, I do not know. This is not helping). What is happening to GM is nothing short of the beginnings of Totalitarianism. Rick Wagner, the CEO of GM, has been forced out of his office by the government. A Leader of a private corporation, who is only guilty of asking for help from the Government, is ousted by the same "benevolent" government that is still bailing out the banking industry. AIG, are you watching this... oh wait, the Government has already hired it's proxy as the head of that conglamorate as well, for $1 a year. Now that's rich.

Why did I decide to place this in End-Times? Simple. IN my POV, I believe that the US government will turn towards totalitarianism, which is what socialism and communism truly is. This turn will spark a series of events that will end up causing this country to break apart. All of this while the world will be suffering from the greatest war that the world will ever see. (I am talking about the fifth trumpet woe). It is my opinion that we need to take notice as to what this government is doing, becuase what it is doing to the businesses today will end up being what they will attempt to do to religion tomorrow.

Imagine, your pastor is forced off of the podium because he does not acknowledge the "significance of science" over his religion. Usually, most of us would find that concept to be preposterous, due to the first amendment. However, a lot of the churches are tied into the "non-profit" status, which gives them exemption from paying taxes by the government. But because of this exemption, the government, in theory, has a voice in what is practiced and preached in the churches. We have yet to see the government act on this yet, but whose to say that they will not impose restrictions to the churches in the future for the sake of elevating evolution as science over the Bible? I mean, they have already done this in the public schools, which were originally Christian based. So who's to say that they will not extend their hands into the churches themselves? They have found a way to gain access into the private business sector and see what is happening there?

Even Glenn Beck stated in the past that the businesses that are now under government control should have been allowed to fail, without getting any money from the taxpayer. And even now, as Rick Wagner is forced out of GM, the government is talking about allowing GM to go into bankrupcy? What was the difference between today and 2 months ago? The Government had given GM about $30 Billion. That's what. The Government can now control an industry that it has wanted for years, the private sector. They now have control of the banks and two of the three major manufactoring sectors of this country. What's next fed? Where are you going to slip into next, Mr government. Obama, I defended you, and yet you are showing me that your opposition may be on to something.

The government should not be in the business of business. IF the business in question makes severe mistakes and fails, then no one should help them. This is capitalism. We are responsible for ourselves, and our actions. The Lord finds it fit to not intervene when we mess up, and He is God! Why can't the government do the same?

Now again, to be fair, I am not making this a political issue, because this madness started with President Bush's $700 Billion bail-out of the Financial sector, giving the government the open door it needed to step into the financial sector and control it. So this is not a "republican vs democrat" thing. This is about our freedoms not only as Americans, but as Christians. I know that it's tough for some to see how the fall of one institution can lead to the termination of our rights as believers to practice our faith, but the connection is there.

So, what say you? Remember the rules on this forum, especially the identifying the ANtichrist rule, because I still do not believe that any US president can become the AntiChrist, and to name someone is against the rules. With that said, I do not like the direction that this country is headed, and I believe that I am not the only one. If you see another connection, or like me, you just want to voice your concern, please contribute.

ANd BTW, it was a good run, GM. You had helped millions of families over the decades provide a good life for themselves and their children. Your loss will definitely be felt throughout this country, and the world. If only you would have been like Ford, who foreseen this kind of trouble, and bailed on the bailout before their autonomy was taken away from them. Suddenly, a Ford does sound like a good idea.

And on another note. Expect another ode to Chrysler soon, as the government is forcing that company to be sold to Fiat, an Italian corporation, within the next 30 days. See what happens when the government takes over something that it has no business having it's hands in in the first place?

Wagner is doing what all people have done throughout history: concede to the demands of creditors. I'm sorry, but if Wagner wanted to keep the reigns and continue to play in the private arena he should have stayed there. The instant he became a debtor to the public, he put himself at their disposal. And dispose of him they will since he helped drive (hehe) the company to such a quick demise.

Don't condemn the government for looking to get the best results for its money. Blame the fools that sold the company to the government to begin with.

Why is the disdain dropped on the bailing out party rather than the party seeking bail out. I hope there's enough disdain left over for EVERY HOME OWNER IN AMERICA for doing essentially the same thing.

The government is not a bank. The government has overstepped it bounds. The original purpose of the Federal government is to secure our rights as Americans, which includes the building up of our military and the placement of people that will ensure that our rights are reinforced, not stripped away. I am not saying that Rick Wagner had no role in this matter, and I hold no pity on the organization that created it's own demise. I do hold the right, however, to show disdain over the government who has decided to take over companies that it has NO RIGHT to own, let alone interfere with. It is not a military-affiliated industry that the government has to be involved in, and so it should not be in the business of bailing out anyone, let alone private corporations.

The disdain is not dropped from those seeking the bail-out, but at the same time, I am not about to just sit here and allow my future to be flushed down the political toilet. My dream is to be an entrepeneur. I do not want the government deciding what I can or can't do with the business that I decided to build off of the sweat of my brow. If you want to shout out against those who are crying out for bail-outs, then go right ahead. Use this thread even, because it is all connected. When the homeowner goes to the government for help with their house, they, like GM and AIG, lose their rights to privacy. Their incomes and practices will, like these businesses, come under the direct scrutiny of the gavernment, and nothing good can come from this. Feel free to voice your concern. The End of GM is only the beginning of the troubles that we all face here, with our very freedoms being at stake here.

And I see the companies as exercising their free market rights to find financing where ever they can. And shame on them for going to the government to get it. But whoever they get financing from gets to set the rules. Have you written your senator and congressmen to voice your dissent?

Entrepreneurship is an excellent pursuit. My advice would be if you don't want the government walking in and taking charge of it, don't ask for a dime of their money.

ive been wrestling with this for awhile now. i recognize what is going on as scripture. it cant be changed, so why do i wonder if it can be stopped?

listen, the new world order (illuminati) is very real....as is bilderberg, bohemian grove, etc. we have been saying this for several years now and people have laughed. i felt like kyle reese in the interrogation room from terminator 1. if there is some good going on, its that people are waking up in patches here and there. even if one believes revelation, they sure as heck feel that it does not apply to THEIR lifetime.

for crying out loud, pope john paul II was highly rumored to have attended the 1999 bilderberg meeting in portugal (i believe that was the location)

george lucas has promoted new age religion to popularity AND created one of the biggest movie series of all-time...2 birds...one stone.

alex jones videorecording the "sunday church-going christian" conservative republicans worhipping a 50ft owl named molach in the woods

benedict calling for a new world order more than once

    the bogus "man-made" global warming

mass graves and thousand upon THOUSANDS of cement vaults being shipped into several cemeteries...piled in crammed next to eachother and dirt being put on them

"look to change the times and laws"....sabbath and ten commandments

fema using post offices and walmart distributing factories ...barbwire turned inward for future camps

the freedom tower being renamed to what?....ONE WORLD trade center. talk about salt on the wound of one of the most tragic sites this country has ever known...

guys, point being...its coming. some will hear, others wont. its been written. whoever HAS heard, AWESOME. consider yourselves blessed by God. frankly, i am filth. i deserve no salvation, but in my defense, i have dedicated my life to doing the best i can, in honor of Jesus...and for God.

the NWO has been too big to hide now, and thats why its being mentioned on mainstream news now, by glenn beck, who by the way, should not be heard without grains of salt. he works for rupert murdock. disinfo agent. he will give truth, then add swerves and how HE thinks we should handle this.

i dont want to backbite and gossip, but this is just way too obvious. our duty should be to get people the information and keep loyal to the Word of God.
