    How real is God?

Although many of us believein the presence of God and know that he loves us, he is not real to us;because He is invisible. God isinvisible because he is not matter, but a spirit.Spirit, like a force is invisible; yet theyboth exert influence on material objects. Spirit, however, is more than just a force; because spirit has life. It is therefore dynamic and creative. Theultimate Spirit is God.
The life of God's Spirit is love and it is the force oflove in the universe. God shares his life with us by imprinting his spiriton our heart. This enables us to unconditionally love others and show his presenceto others through our expression of love. Such expressions of love include: soldiers carrying enemy combatants on their shoulder for medical care; people staying faithful to their marriage vows although their spouses have hurt and betrayed them; people going out of their way and even putting their life on the line to help those who have hurt them; people giving away everything, including their own desires, and travelling to countries that are devoid of basic sanitation and comfort, in order to bringthe good news about Godís love to others. We can also experience the presence of God when we ponder on infinite sacrifice God made for us on the cross; and reenterit at the Lordís Supper.

    Re: How real is God?

I noticed this was a copy and paste so I did a search and found you posted it first on a Catholic forum which is fine, but confusing. Why post it in two different places? Its a little hard to read because many words run together which can happen when you copy and paste.
"People do not drift toward holiness. Apart from grace-driven effort, people do not gravitate toward godliness, prayer, obedience to Scripture, faith, and delight in the Lord. We drift toward compromise and call it tolerance; We drift toward disobedience and call it freedom; We drift toward superstition and call it faith. We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated?" - D A Carson
