    My father very ill

My extraordinarily healthy 80 year old father experienced a brain aneurysm today.

He has been helicoptered out of state and we are with him.

The doctor said it will go one of three ways. He will die. He will stay comatose. Or he will be permanently without much motor function.

    We are devestated and exhausted.

I don't even know what to ask for for prayer.

I just want him back the way he was this morning when I talked to him.

I am sorry to hear what happened to your father. I will pray for him, and your family. Doctor's don't always have the last word. The Lord can make exceptions.
2 Ti 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

    Praying for his complete healing.
Per Hebrew 13:3 please "Remember those in prison": http://bibleforums.org/forumdisplay....secuted-Church

Acts 21 Now they have been informed about you that you continually teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn back from and forsake Moses...Therefore do just what we tell you....thus everybody will know that there is no truth in what they have been told about you, but that you yourself walk in observance of the Law of Moses.

I'm praying for his peace, comfort, strength and love.
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

    Re: My father very ill

My father has passed. He was coherent enough for two of the six days to talk to his brother and our immediate family. I was praying for God to be merciful and he was. He simply stopped breathing. We were all with him.

He is with the Lord. I stood at his bed and claimed out loud the scripture passage where David said about his infant son, "He will not return to me, but I will go to him."

We will bury him Saturday. Give me until Monday to come back and act as moderator.

"He will not return to me, but I will go to him."

You've made me cry tears of joy for him because his burden is over and he is with the Lord and tears of sorrow because I well remember my grief at my fathers passing.
It's hard I know but He will give you the strength to carry on in love.

He has been helicoptered out of state and we are with him. The desire for improvement can be a compelling motivator.

The doctor said it will go one of three ways. He will die. He will stay comatose. Or he will be permanently without much motor function. And then there's the obvious: a miraculous recovery.

We are devastated and exhausted. "Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my guidance upon yourself and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul, because my guidance is easy and my burden is light."

I don't even know what to ask for for prayer. God does these things for the best possible -- in fact, the only legitimate -- reason. It is his reason and not always revealed to man upon demand. Our duty is to learn how to trust The Creator.

I just want him back the way he was this morning when I talked to him. That cannot happen. "My Father is always at work, and I am also working."
You have seen how God overrules all other desires, because he is The Sovereign Lord. "This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have stored up for yourself?" Make no mistake: God is right. You may or may not be wrong, but you need no guarantee when it comes to knowing whether or not God is saying and doing good. "Therefore, God in his wisdom has said, 'I am sending them prophets and apostles and righteous men. Some they will murder and others they will abuse.' So will come upon this generation all the righteous blood that was shed on Earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah who was murdered between the temple and the altar. Yes, I tell you, all this will be held against this generation."

God's wisdom is superior to men's understanding, but some people refuse to believe that God even exists. Don't be a fool like them. Know that what has happened here is good in God's sight; "Not even a bird [which men care little or nothing about anyway] will [die] apart from the will of your Heavenly Father. Even every hair on your head is counted. So do not be afraid -- you are in fact much more valuable than many birds."

"I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even though he dies, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?"

So your father continues to live and has not actually died. Isn't that a wonderful thing God has done?

In situations like this, say "Here, Jesus," and give him your emotional, spiritual, ANYTHING, burden. And he will make these problems better than as if they hadn't happened. God's Justice (betterment) is Absolute and Definitive. After all, God holds Existence in himself through Jesus Christ.
