Horrific act of anti-semitism in Pittsburg

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/pittsbu...ow-2018-10-27/

“Law enforcement sources tell CBS News and KDKA that the suspect in a fatal shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue is 48-year-old Robert Bowers. His online activity shows he posted anti-Semitic threats and conspiracy theories in the weeks before Saturday's shooting, which left at least eight dead.”
I am so sad and so angry right now I don’t know what to pray......

This is almost unthinkable. Not only is the location a very nice family neighborhood it was done during a prayer service for peace and a baby naming ceremony.
In my wildest imagination I would have never dreamed such a thing could happen in Squirrel Hill.

This was an act of pure evil.

“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil to blot out their name from the earth.
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Merciful Father who dwells on high, in His great mercy will remember with compassion the pious, upright and blameless the holy communities, who laid down their lives for the sanctification of His name. They were loved and pleasant in their lives and in death they were not parted from Him. They were swifter than eagles and stronger than lions to carry out the will of their Maker, and the desire of their steadfast God.

May our Lord remember them for good together with the other righteous of the world and may He redress the spilled blood of His servants as it is written in the Torah of Moses the man of God: "O nations, make His people rejoice for He will redress the blood of His servants He will retaliate against His enemies and appease His land and His people". And through Your servants, the prophets it is written: "Though I forgive, their bloodshed I shall not forgive When God dwells in Zion" And in the Holy Writings it says: "Why should the nations say, 'Where is their God?'" Let it be known among the nations in our sight that You avenge the spilled blood of Your servants. And it says: "For He who exacts retribution for spilled blood remembers them He does not forget the cry of the humble". And it says: "He will execute judgement among the corpse-filled nations crushing the rulers of the mighty land; from the brook by the wayside he will drink then he will hold his head high".
"For a small moment have I forsaken you, and with great mercy will I gather you. With a little wrath did I hide My countenance for a moment from you, and with everlasting kindness will I have compassion on you," said your Redeemer, the Lord."..."For the mountains shall depart and the hills totter, but My kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall the covenant of My peace totter," says the Lord, Who has compassion on you.

I must admit I am angry concerning this situation. It is a despicable act of cowardice with no respect for human dignity or life.
2 Ti 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

I have one word for this: broken.

Prayers to ALL involved in this entire situation. May the Lord touch the hearts, heal them, and may His justice be swift.

Whenever i see a horrific event such as this i pray for those left behind that they would come to a saving knowledge of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ..

I Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

    5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

OK, so let me see if I understand you correctly: Insane evil person murders Jews for being Jewish. And you think that remaining Jews should give up their Judaism as a result. Isn't that kind of affirming the killer's message? Isn't that furthering his goal of ridding the world of Jews? Can't you, even for just one day, love Jews for being Jews? No, probably not.

    Hello all,
This was a horrific event that has grieved us all. Please use reason when discussing the matter. Because of it's wicked nature and the loss involved it has put us all in an emotionally reactive state. I am not forbidding anyone from venting about this tragedy. I just implore everyone to talk this out without expressing bitterness at each other. I am not asking this as a Mod. Just as a friend and brother.

The murderer cited John 8:44 on his Twitter profile. No, he isn't a Christian. He has zero Christian values. But if someone's only response to this tragedy is to agree with the murderer's motive, and say, "yes, the world needs less Jews. The rest of them should convert." Well, that provides zero comfort and it actually very disturbing. It also displays zero Christian values. Maybe a person like that should just not say anything at all. Even if just for one single day.
