    Phil 2:8-9

    Philippians 2:8-9

KJV 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

MKJV 8 And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9Therefore God has highly exalted Him, and has given Him a name which is above every name,

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

8 Jesus came not just to die but to live a life to show us how to serve the Lord and lived to set the example, He being perfect lived in a fallen world for us, He went thru things we go thru but He didnít sin and we need to look to Him to overcome.

9 Jesus is lifted up on high and remains there and will always be who our devotion should be thru, we have power thru Jesus and have a relationship with the Father because of His death on the cross for our sins.

    My thought:

Jesus's perfect life is what actually condemned us. He was tempted in every way as we are, yet he did not sin.
He removed our excuses. When standing before the judge we cannot shout "How dare you judge me, you don't know what it is like to be tempted!"

It is by his obedience in the fact of the same temptations that he he simultaneously convicts of of sin and earned our fealty as our intercessor.

The life of Jesus is one which was mapped out in great detail, in writing, unlike ours. We do not need an example for living, we need the indwelling Spirit to give life.

This is one of the most amazing passages in the Bible. I think it means that God selected a human body to deposit His own Being into, so that he revealed Himself as a man. This is indicated by God's expressed intention to humble this human representation of His Being to the level of a man, who lives in service to God.

Displaying obedience in this way, as only Deity can, Jesus was naturally elevated By God, his Father, to the highest status of a man, which is Deity itself. Showing perfect obedience to God as his Father Jesus showed his glory as divine Son, inheriting everything in the universe. This then became a perfect model for man, as well as our redemption, as we pursue obedience to God as our Father, and expect that we will be exalted as His people.

It is not just by emulating the Son that we achieve this status. As you indicate this is achieved also by living *through the Son of God.* He is our source of life as well as our example. Great passage!
