That just shows where that pastor's heart was to begin with.

Ummm, the original term in Greek is:

    ποιμένας
    poimenas

    Strong's Concordance
    poimén: a shepherd
    Original Word: ποιμήν, ένος, ὁ
    Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
    Transliteration: poimén
    Phonetic Spelling: (poy-mane')
    Definition: a shepherd
Usage: a shepherd; hence met: of the feeder, protector, and ruler of a flock of men.
    HELPS Word-studies

4166 poimḗn – properly, a shepherd ("pastor" in Latin); (figuratively) someone who the Lord raises up to care for the total well-being of His flock (the people of the Lord).

[4166 (poimḗn) is closely associated with 1066 /Gedeṓn ("to feed the flock"), see Jn 21:15-17.]

In English, the proper translation is: shepherd.

0 for 4 by my count where the KJV translation gets it wrong and all you are doing, is proving the greater errors in the KJV translation that have been corrected by other translations.

    Slug is right.

ποιμήν is used 18 times in the Greek New Testament. There is nothing wrong with translating it as “pastor”. But the fact is the KJV used “shepherd” 17 of the 18 times and pastor just once. It could be either word any of those times. The ESV was more consistent and simply used shepherd all 18 times.

The KJV is fine in this. The ESV is fine in this.

Chill on the versions issue and just read your Bible today’s and hear the voice of the true Shepherd/pastor - our triune God.

No one in the first century called congregation leaders “pastors”

Kech, ya ever read "A Pagan's Nightmare" by Ray Blackston? The main "religious" leader in the book has achieved such righteousness that he "speaketh" in KJB throughout the novel. The point that the author makes, is awesome.

Oh...lol I thought genJesus was saying that a pastor was no longer reading from the Bible because he "strayed away from the KJV".
    My mistake

Oops! I can see if you don’t watch the video how the title can make you go down that path.
