Poll - Experience of God's supernatural power

This is a Poll that is an effort to help Aristarkos with testimony of/from/by fellow brethren. Brethren that have at one time or another (multiple?) have experienced the outward manifestation of God's power. Be it a testimony of God working through you or you witnessed first hand (present at and can make an account) testimony when another servant of God was used in the manifestation of His power.

The intent and "heart" of this thread is to NOT compare or debate but to testify to Aristarkos that God does manifest His power upon "all" the Body of Christ (1 Cor 12:7) and also, out in the world when doing Kingdom Work (Matthew 28:16-20 primarily but also Mark 16:14-18). Other scriptures dealing with commandment to go out into the world also include: Luke 24:46-49; Acts 1:4-8; John 20:21; and Romans 16:25-26.

Another scripture I will raise is this one which I will post:

1 Cor 2:1When I came to you, brothers and sisters, I did not come proclaiming the mystery of God to you in lofty words or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3 And I came to you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling. 4 My speech and my proclamation were not with plausible words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith might rest not on human wisdom but on the power of God.

We see that Paul was used by God in POWER before all the Gentiles in Corinth and he has to "remind" them of the power that God manifested amongst them through himself. Yes, God is NOW manifesting His power not through Jews, but Gentiles all over Corinth, and it's just a part of the BIG mess in that region

Let me lay this out in the way I do to make it a little easier to understand... After Paul's initial (in person) visit, later in time Paul continued to disciple them via letters and in the 1st REAL (is lost) letter that Paul sent to them, they failed in understanding the discipleship Paul relayed to them, study 1 Cor 5:9-11. He had to send a 2nd letter (what we have today as 1st Corinthians) to them. In this 2nd letter (1 Corinthians) an element of discipleship (chapters 12-14) was about the "power" Paul displayed during his actual visit in the past. "Power" that all these Gentiles are manifesting, showing no love and pretty much all is in chaos (NO ORDER).

Anyway... history lesson over. Today, God continues to work "through" Gentiles just as He began back then and this POLL is to illuminate to Aristarkos, through testimony... God's power is truly manifesting through servants, throughout the world. I know many members of this message board are from many different parts of the world.

Heart of the thread: testify to help Aristarkos "see" God's supernatural work through servants today

I will ask/request that no debate happen, or I can start another thread for discussion/debate.

If all you do is click the respective "manifestations" that you have experienced and not post any testimony, numbers do speak volumes as well.

The Poll will be multiple select (pick all that apply) and anonymous (your name will not be listed under your selections).

    Thank you.

(now lets put this poll together without error)

    Love testimonies!

To add to your list, other than casting out demons, I have experienced what I consider to be Prophesying. Changed into another man and preached for an extended period of time under the Spirit. When I finish, I don't know what I say, but I am told it's the best preaching they've heard and about 80% present either convert or rededicate their lives to Christ. A very high percentage. This has only happened a few times, and no one has managed to record it. I sure would like to know what God says.

Also, 3 of us were translated from one location to another. From the lobby of a hotel to the hallway of the secure access top floor where the penthouse suites where. The purpose, I don't know. I can only guess that we were being delayed and protected from a dangerous situation? My word of faith, Amway buddy thought it meant God was going to prosper us monetarily. Clearly he was wrong, LOL.

As far as I know I have never experienced "Divine protection from poison" but I have been pushed up against my seat, hands taken off the steering wheel, and my vehicle picked up and moved around a full size van that ran a red light. Talk about - Jesus Take the Wheel.

I thought some might want a better picture of when we were translated. We took the stairs from the 3rd floor to get to lobby/ground floor. There were no more stairs going further down and we definitely started on the 3rd floor. When we walked through the door that was labeled "Lobby" we were in a hallway and standing on plush carpet. There was a maid down the hallway so I asked her how to get to the lobby. She looked at me like I was crazy or stupid and said, "go to the elevator, press the down button, in the elevator press the L button" LOL. So we went to the elevator and pressed the down button and watched in dismay as the elevator came to the top floor. We just looked at each other in shock and didn't speak to one another until we got to the parking garage.

Re: Poll - Experience of God's supernatural power

When my father has a stroke last summer, he was helicoptered out of state to the 2nd most revered team of neurospecialists that there are. One of the doctors is the man for whom you bring a patient that no one else will touch.

By the time we got there, he was already in the neuro-intensive care. They told us he would be dead by morning or at least by the next day. They said that there was nothing they could do. Prepare for the worst.

Two days later, on the day they said was his last hope, he woke up. He stayed awake for 4 days. Two of those days were blessings.

The doctors were all very puzzled. They told us that the man to whom all the brain scans belonged to [and they took a lot] is not the man who is sitting there talking and joking around. They told us that more than once. They said it was a mystery to them. They showed us the scans of the brain and the bleeds that should have killed him or made him comatose. They explained very carefully, yet clinically and hard to hear, that my father should be dead.

It was not a mystery to me. God gave my uncle, my dad's nieces and nephews, and ourselves two day to converse with him, laugh with him, and have some closure with him that helped us not go to the funny farm in the months after his death.

The last two days were bad. He pulled every tube out. They bound his hands down. He tore out of them every time. Restraints didn't work. He kept asking, "Have I hurt some? Have I done something bad?" That was painful to hear and could not be explained to him.

On the last day, he seemed subdued. He spoke no more. They removed the restraints and every tube. He kept looking towards the ceiling and would lift his arm as if reaching for someone. The nurse said, "He has started his journey".

On that day, I told God that I could not bear anymore of this and my mother was about to break. I asked God to be merciful and to take my father. My father closed his eyes not to open them again.

Within 30 minutes he peacefully breathed his last.

God MIRACULOUSLY gave us some time. God in his observable and provable MERCY, answered my prayer on the spot.

I'll never forget those doctors and their being mystified.

    I was not.

I've seen in-person or been granted to participate in all of these except for casting out demons (unless you view "demons" as drug-influence or mental illness).

Re: Poll - Experience of God's supernatural power

    Here's another.....believe me don't.

I was headed northbound on a rainy day. Another car was headed southbound. It was a teenager driving with other teens in the car. I don't know how many. One or two.

We were getting close to a street that ran west to east and was perpendicular to our lanes. A third car was in the east bound lane and had a stop sign. He ignored it and drove across the intersection. The teen apparently was not paying attention either and turn into the east bound lane at the came time. And I could not avoid a crash with both of them.

I didn't even have time to yell, "God, help me!"

I blinked and the teens were going down the east bound land. The third car was now in the southbound lane and I was still going north. There was no crash.

I shook a little all the way home unable to fathom what happened. I knew what happened, but found it incredulous. I'm good with it now - knowing God intervened.

My wife and I just got rear-ended a week ago. On other occasions I've perhaps miraculously escaped accidents.

Once on a skiing trip I just happened to look over at my friend, who was driving, to notice he had fallen asleep. That happened on another occasion as well.

Once as a young teenager, before I had committed fully to the Lord, I was in my friend's stolen car, running away from home. My friend insisted I take my turn sleeping, while he drove.

Somewhere down around Chico and Paradise, CA, my friend fell asleep, and I awoke as we were heading towards a telephone pole. The pole just missed crushing my side of the car, and when we stopped in a field, my friend just said, "Oh God, oh God, oh God." I remember feeling like we escaped injury due to the kindness and preservation of God.

Sometimes God lets us get into accidents, and sometimes He lets us know He bailed us out. We can never know for sure what God's purpose is. We just can know that He's with us, and that it's better to be in His good pleasure!

Once I traveled for many miles with the fuel gauge on Empty--because there were no open gas stations at night where I was. Once I used a moving van, and couldn't put gas in the tank because it was full!

I've had a difficult life. But I can honestly say God has been there with me, being kind, as He is. I cannot judge Him for the harsh life He's given me. I can only thank Him for the eternal life He's given me, and for all of the kind things He's done in preserving my family, healing my family, and giving a measure of prosperity to my family.

Cool Re: Poll - Experience of God's supernatural power

I already shared in another thread how my, my wife's and my daughter's astigmatism was healed all at the same time. We had just taken a big step in faith and went North to Oakland to work in the mission field. We had an old van with bald tires and smoking from a cracked piston-ring. We didn't even have enough gas money until my cousin palmed me a twenty on the way there. A couple days after arriving, we all noticed our glasses didn't work for us anymore. We didn't need them anymore. A few years later my wife was bitten by a pit viper and no poison was injected. The fang marks didn't even swell up or get infected.

I ran out of fuel once. 1987 fuel injection. If you've ever ran out of fuel on something like that you no how hard it is to get started after getting fuel. I prayed, it started and I made it to a gas station. It was not a fluke. I built that truck from the ground up and knew everything about it. I could hear a new noise and new what the problem was. It was out of gas, and started and ran on prayer.

Re: Poll - Experience of God's supernatural power

It is interesting how many people I know, and now two more have testimony dealing with their auto and the gas gauge on empty and in faith, making it many miles in empty. I have a testimony a little different. Somewhere on this message board is this testimony.

There was a time when money was really being stretched due to financial burdens and hardship. The job I have has a pay period every other Thursday but the money hits my account around 8pm on Wednesday nights. Usually the Monday night of the pay week, I am putting the last of my "gas allowance" into my truck and this will of course last until Friday. I put $50 in the truck every 4-5 days due to the mileage I drive. During this time, I was doing all I could to lessen the driving. However, here I was driving to church on a Sunday and seeing the needle at the 1/4 mark and the drive to the church and back home is 52 miles. Monday morning, I will drive 28 miles just to "get" to work... and no money in the account to purchase gas. Knowing that "if" I make it to work, I cannot get back home due to lack of fuel.

So, what does one do... pray on the way into church concerning the gas situation. Put it in God's hands!

As I was closing up the church (I was an elder at that time), a member of the church comes up to me to say goodbye. I'm a hugger, ALL in the church (who know me), know I will not shake hands, I will HUG them for all hello's/goodbyes and for every thing else. This person put out their hand to offer a hand shake and I literally found myself taking their hand, instead of the automatic hug I am so used to giving. From the handshake, I had a $50 in my hand and as I looked at it, the member stated that the Holy Spirit prompted them to offer the $50 to me. They didn't know the reason, but in obedience, offered me the $50. THEN, I gave this person a huge hug and informed the person about the gas situation and how I prayed on the way into church.

    God is SO Good!

During that financial hardship, a second time I found myself lacking funds to purchase fuel. This time it was a Thursday and I was heading to church due to our Breaking the Chains (recovery ministry) that is held each Thursday (at that time). The gas gauge was at the 1/4 mark. I had enough to get to the church and get home (and most likely, enough to get to work the next day). I also knew our car had 1/2 tank of gas, so I'd have to use the car until the next pay period (since it had a much better MPG rating). But, I prayed on the way to the church as I left work. Got to church, held the recovery meeting and during the meet a person who attended, very calmly handed me a $50. Said that while I was giving the class, the Holy Spirit was speaking to this person about giving the $50 in their pocket, to me.

Yeah, two grown men, crying due to the goodness of God. He got a huge hug too!
